Meet the RightCapital Training & Onboarding Team

You’re likely familiar with their voices from onboarding calls and training webinars, but we’d love for you to get to know our Training and Onboarding Team (and their pets!) a little better. Many of our advisors have access to a 1:1 onboarding call within the first two weeks of their membership and every subscriber has access to our training webinars, whether you would like to learn how to create and present your first plan, earn CFP credits on financial topics such as dynamic retirement spending strategies, or learn more about best practices with helpful tips for Roth conversions or the student loan module.

Daniel, Manager of Onboarding and Training (+ his dog, Rocky)

Daniel has spent his time at RightCapital working on the Support, Onboarding, and Training Teams, and he now manages the Onboarding and Training departments. He is passionate about helping others and appreciates RightCapital’s inclusive culture within which people are able to play as hard as they work. According to Daniel, “There is an authenticity with RightCapital staff and the way they care for advisors that keeps me motivated everyday.”

Off the clock, Daniel enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, and pursues his love of the outdoors. Whether he’s hiking, biking, fishing, climbing, gardening, or hanging with his chickens, you're likely to find him enjoying the sunshine and listening to ‘90’s music. Admittedly, it’s a grunge thing.

Kelly, Training Lead

Kelly, Training Lead, playing the drums, next to a review from an advisor saying she is articulate, concise, and competent

Kelly joined RightCapital at the tail-end of 2019 and has worn many hats for the company since. Most recently she has been promoted to “Training Lead” for RightCapital’s Training Team. “What I like most about working here is interacting with top-notch people; whether it be trouble-shooting plans with our sophisticated clientele to come up with tangible, real-life financial solutions or working alongside a team of intelligent, generous people—not a day goes by where we aren’t collectively sharpening the skill set.” She adds, “And I never get a case of the ‘Sunday Scaries’.”

When Kelly isn’t drafting copy for the Help Center or preparing for weekly webinars, you’ll find her playing drums in various bands around Connecticut on the weekends—which is especially poignant when you hear how many advisors have called her “a rock star”. Alternatively, you may find her scouring the shelves of used book stores building her collection of prized first editions like a (self-declared) “total snob”.

Derek, Onboarding Team Lead

Derek has been at RightCapital since 2018 and has had a great ride so far! He has worked not only on the Onboarding Team but also the Support and Sales Teams. “The ability to work on multiple teams has been great in that it has given me a broader understanding of the day-to-day operations here at RightCapital. It has also given me the opportunity to make strong personal connections with members on each of these teams. When you have these relationships with colleagues, you know that everyone has your back and that you can work together to accomplish anything!”

One of Derek’s favorite perks about working at RightCapital is the great work-life balance. With RightCapital’s generous PTO policy, he has had the opportunity to go on multiple ski trips to Colorado and Utah (above!) and to play some of the best golf courses in the country.

Alec, Onboarding Team Specialist (+ his cat, Fendi)

Alec started at RightCapital in 2019, when the Support Team was much leaner than they are now, at just seven people. He moved to the Onboarding Team in 2020. “Working with such a wide range of advisors with different needs is such a cool experience,” Alec notes.

Outside of work, Alec calls his cat, Fendi, his soulmate. He adopted her from a shelter and she lived with him in college his junior and senior years. Alec is also a big car enthusiast and finds it fascinating to watch the industry respond to breakthroughs in technology.
