Q2 2026 Updates: How RightCapital Saves Advisors Time with Iris™ AI Planning Agent

July 2, 2026

Iris™ AI Planning Agent on a blue background highlights RightCapital's Q2 2026 updates including a redesigned advisor portal.

RightCapital’s financial planning software updates are consistently focused on saving advisors time and providing plan clarity. This is especially the case with the launch of Iris™, the first planning-focused AI agent which directly interprets client data, assisting advisors in reviewing RightCapital profile information, surfacing plan anomalies or areas of concern, and running multiple plan simulations directly in the advisor workflow. We've also redesigned the Advisor Portal, sharpened our tax tools, refreshed the cost data behind your retirement projections, and more.

Here's what's new this quarter:

Meet Iris, your AI planning agent

Say hello to Iris, the newest member of our AI-powered planning suite. Iris lives inside RightCapital, alongside the plans you're already working in, and is built to help you do more for every client in less time.

Getting started takes a single click. Open any client plan, find the sparkle icon in the top navigation bar, and a chat window opens beside your current view, so there’s no switching screens and no losing your place. Here’s how Iris helps advisors.

  • Protect planning accuracy without slowing down the process: With Double Check, Iris runs a data-quality audit across the entire client profile, surfacing any small issue that could throw off a plan, such as a missing cost basis, an account assigned to the wrong owner, or an unclassified asset allocation. Fix identified issues on the spot, without ever leaving the conversation.
  • Walk into every meeting prepared: Cash Flow Review delivers an in-depth analysis with key metrics anchoring the conversation such as probability of success, median portfolio value, and plan duration, alongside identified planning concerns and their impacts on the plan, so you know exactly where to focus the conversation.
  • Solve for probability of success: Select a target probability of success and the action items the client feels comfortable adjusting, such as retirement age, spending, and expenses. You’ll receive three distinct plan options, each with key considerations, specific changes they require, and the resulting probability of success, turning hours of what-if modeling into a few minutes of informed decision-making.
  • Get answers when you need them: Stuck on a strategy or can't remember where a setting lives? Just ask. Iris's built-in chat fields detailed questions about a client's plan, RightCapital's functionality, or planning concepts in general, day or night.

Iris doesn't replace your expertise, it enhances it. The planning agent only uses data from the current client plan and RightCapital’s own resources.

A redesigned Advisor Portal, built around your day

Iris isn't the only thing that's new when you log in. We've reimagined the Advisor Portal from the ground up, with a cleaner, more intuitive layout that puts the tools and information you reach for most within easy reach, so you can spend less time navigating and more time serving clients.

  • Start your day with the new Dashboard: Your landing page is customizable, giving you at-a-glance visibility into key information, such as total households, assets under management, recently accessed plans, and outstanding tasks. With everything in one place, it's easy to size up your day and jump straight to what needs attention.
  • Stay in the loop with the Activities Feed: Living right inside the Dashboard, the new feed surfaces recent client engagement as it happens (including plan updates, completed tasks, and household activity), so you always know what's moving and where to focus next.
  • Find every plan in one place with the Planning Tab: This new tab is your central hub for launching and managing financial plans, bringing client plans together with your Models, Assumptions, and Planning Presets.

Smarter, more flexible tax planning

The Tax Analyzer tool now supports 2025 tax returns, so you can review your clients' most recent filings for fresh savings opportunities. To help you identify future tax opportunities as well, you can also project an existing return forward by one year: upload the return, select it from the drop-down, and choose the following year to see where future opportunities may emerge.

We've also expanded the Tax Strategies module to give you finer control over income and long-term tax burdens:

  • Model normal distributions, illustrating regular withdrawals from tax-deferred accounts up to a target tax bracket
  • Choose any combination of 401(k), IRA, pension, and annuity accounts to draw from
  • Include qualified annuities in a Roth conversion strategy

More realistic retirement and long-term care modeling

A plan is only as good as the assumptions behind it, so we've refreshed the data and added new ways to model life's hardest-to-predict expenses.

We've updated the default Annual Retirement Health Care and Long-Term Care costs with the latest available data. Plans using the National Average will automatically reflect the new figures, which span Medicare premiums, supplemental plans, and out-of-pocket costs. If you prefer the Detailed Estimate option, you'll find refreshed defaults for pre-Medicare and out-of-pocket costs, while the Long-Term Care averages now cover updated in-home care, assisted living, and nursing home figures.

For clients facing a long-term care event, you can now model the sale of the primary residence when the final LTC event begins, a more complete picture of how the numbers typically play out.

Deeper investment, cryptocurrency, and net worth insights

This quarter brings more flexibility to how you analyze portfolios and build out a client's balance sheet.

In the Investment > Sector and Style module, you can now benchmark a client's portfolio against the index that fits best (whether that's a major market index or a specific ticker symbol).

By popular demand, you can now add cryptocurrency holdings to manual accounts using ticker symbols sourced from Morningstar.

For indexed and indexed variable annuities, you can indicate which index they are tied to if it differs from the standard Large Blend index.

Updated education costs

We've refreshed both the national averages and school-specific college costs with the latest available data, any education goals using these figures were updated automatically.

Learning and support, right where you need it

Two updates make it easier to get answers and keep building your expertise.

The Help Center Assistant now opens in a side panel, so you can keep reading an article while you ask questions and review answers side by side. Click the blue Help Center Assistant button anytime to learn about RightCapital's features, receive step-by-step setup guidance, or dig deeper into a topic without losing the article you're on.

And for advisors who need continuing education, you can now earn Investment Adviser Representative (IAR) CE credits through our monthly Continuing Education webinars. Register for the next session to start earning.
